Students are presenting their Recipes for a Hero this week to the 2nd grade class. Everyone is very prepared for the presentations and has put a lot of effort and time into their creations. Students are enjoying learning all the interesting facts about different heroes from long ago from their peers. During the presentations, students are identifying the qualities that made their heroes so special. Hoot-Hoot-Hooray for 2nd Grade!
Ghandi said, "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." This week we launched our Hero project with several heroic visitors from our community. We had an ambulance driver, a policeman, and a fireman visit. We also looked at a couple of heroes from long ago, Ruby Bridges and Jackie Robinson, and discussed the qualities they possess and why they are admired. With this project we will be looking at our own personal qualities and exploring our own "unsung" heroism. |
